CYCLING RIVIERA
COASTAL PARK OF THE RIVIERA OF FLOWERS

In 2000 the Riviera of Flowers saw the birth of a momentus project, one that had been anticipated for a century: the moving of the railway uphill and the doubling of the railway tracks.

Moving the trains inland released an extremely valuable area that was directly adjacent to the sea, where the railway that connected Italy to France had been completed in 1870.

The various institutions decided to take advantage of this incredible opportunity by launching a society, Area 24 SpA, with the task of transforming the old disused railway line into a natural coastal park crossed by a 24 km long bike path.

This is the Cycling Riviera Run, where all the competitions related to the San Remo Marathon – Cycling Riviera Run take place.
